His research is cross disciplinary and his publications many in the areas of Spanish American Literature, Chicano Culture and Literature, Native American Literature, History, Dialectology, Ethnic Studies, Pre-Columbian Culture and Philosophy. Moreover, as a creative writer, he has published poetry, short stories and novels which deal with important issues that relate to current problems of society. The intent of Dr. Vento is to to dispel myth and arrive at facts that have been dismissed due to political, religious or cultural/racial agendas.
